Injured In A Car Accident: How Much Compensation Can You Expect To Receive?

how much compensation

Personal injury compensation is available for those who have been injured because of an accident which wasn’t their fault. But estimating the value of your claim can be difficult. As compensation is designed to reflect the impact the accident has had on your life. This will cover various elements such as medical bills, car repairs and lack of earnings because of time off work. As no two cases will ever be the same, it is difficult to establish exactly how much compensation you can expect to receive. But there are guidelines available to give you an idea of what your claim could be worth.

Who Can Make Claim?

Anyone who has been injured because of a car accident which wasn’t their fault can be entitled to compensation. Even if the claimant could be considered to be partially at fault (for example, by not wearing a seat belt). Usually, you can make a claim for a car accident that has happened in the last three years although it is always advisable to act as quickly as possible.

What Can Compensation Pay For?

Compensation can be used to cover any losses that you may have incurred as a result of an accident. This could mean money to pay for a new car or repairs to your existing vehicle. Adjustments to your home due to an injury, or money to replace missed earnings due to time off work.
